Is the log hotel that is practically under the bridge the super 8 or a Days INN? How many hotels are across from the State Park area just east of the bridge. I only recall 2 hotels on Huron before it turns south.

Super 8 Bridgeview.
I have never stayed there, but the owners of that motel (and a group of others) have a very poor reputation for customer service. Be careful trusting online reviews of that spot. Some of them are very suspect.
There are 4 other motels along that stretch. The Riviera Motel is across the street. It is the only on the water in that part of town. I have never stayed there, but other people in this forum have said good things about it.

I have stayed at that Super 8.
Had a whirpool room and no problems or issues at all.
We pretty much biked everywhere from there and it was quite convenient to the downtown and to the other sights and restaurants.
Was your stay recent, 24fan?
No, not recent.
We tend to stay on the other end of Huron St. these days but it was within the past couple of years and like mentioned no problems.
We stayed years ago at that Super 8 and had no problems either. However, we contacted them several times over the past few years to inquire about rooms, rates, when they were open, etc., and they were rude and gave us either poor/short/no answers to our questions. That is all I needed.
We have stayed at the Riviera, and though it could use some updating, it is a very nice motel, very clean and the people running it are very nice, also. And you cannot beat the location.
