Last time I was in Detroit, I passed a house that was covered (and I mean covered) with STUFFED ANIMALS. On the outside. Dozens upon dozens of greying, soggy, limp and misshapen stuffed animals.
Does anyone know the story of this house and why someone attached so many stuffed animals to it?
I know it%26#39;s a bizarre question but... I figured someone on here would know.
Thanks.
Stuffed Animal House
Queenslace, you%26#39;re probably referring to the Heidelberg Project, one of the most notable art space creations in history. Here%26#39;s a link to the Project that can explain it far better than I can.

Stuffed Animal House
Although it is on Mt Elliott around the corner from Heidelberg and the bigger part of the ';exhibit'; it is part of that project. There was a rumor that a woman that works with Tyree Guyton (the artist) was going to make that house her office. I don’t know how true that is but it would definitely be a unique place to work!
Well unsure to rumor, I was informed through other artists that the house that you had viewed was by a local artist. It was done to signify all the death that we had been causing ourselves through gun violence. You see when individuals die due to gun violence, family and friends tend to pick a corner pole or something to keep their memory alive and decorate it with stuffed animals. So as a symbol of their memory and a sign to ourselves that change is necessary the artist did this piece. If you look around the city some more you should find also a house of mirrors. Try the artist Village in Detroit to hear about art work around detroit.
8children died in that house on the eastside of detroit in the 90%26#39;s
