Hey, everybody - I%26#39;m in a bit of a predicament here and I was wondering if anyone could help me out!
I%26#39;m staying at a friend%26#39;s place in Ann Arbor, and he has one ticket to the Detroit Pistons/Cleveland Cavs game on Sunday. He gave me the ticket because he will be unable to attend. It%26#39;s a wonderful seat that would normally cost big money to get.
Unfortunately, I don%26#39;t drive, and Auburn Hills is a long way from Ann Arbor. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to get there reasonably cheaply and quickly for the game?
And how early should I leave Ann Arbor? The game starts at 2:30 PM and I figure it%26#39;s probably about an hour%26#39;s trip by car...
If anyone could help, that would be great.

';Reasonably cheaply and quickly';? Unfortunately, there is no regular public transportation that would get you from Ann Arbor to the Palace, and not even any that would get you as close as Pontiac in time for the game.
So the only options I know about are to car pool it with someone who is going to the game (probably the reason you are posting here); or to have a ';Good Samaritan'; take you, wait until the game is over and then drive you back to Ann Arbor.
For car pooling, try UM boards as there may be students planning to go to the game.
Amtrak and Greyhound can get you to Pontiac, but their Sunday schedules are too late for you to see the game and you still would have an expensive taxi fare to and from The Palace. Amtrak has only one train, leaving AA at 2:09 p.m. and arriving at Pontiac at 4:08. Last train back to AA leaves Pontiac at 5:10 p.m.! Greyhound is even worse, arriving at Pontiac at 5:00 p.m. with NO return bus to AA until Monday!
Final thought: sometimes, groups organize bus trips to various sporting events. You might check around Ann Arbor for such a trip and also could Google it. Good luck!
