Especially the state park! Stay AWAY!
If you have been to Ludington then you understand why. This maybe the nicest place on earth. Only Hawaii compares to it.
Its impossible to get a camping site at the state park the way it is. if you have never been there please dont come. If you have been there before and love it then im sure you cant help but to go back. But dont tell anyone about this place. its the best kept secret in the United States.
Please stay away from Ludington!
I read your topic and was ready to ask if you had lost your mind! LOL I%26#39;ve always said if you are a camper Ludington State Park is the best one in Michigan. My sister in law gets in every year but I don%26#39;t think she will share her ';secret'; of how she does it!
Please stay away from Ludington!
hahahaha-a good one, Jesse!
Please tell me....what makes Ludington so special....and no, at the present time I%26#39;m not planning a trip there! But now you have me curious!
LOL .... well done... I allllmmmost bit.
What makes Ludington so special?
Well its a town trapped in time, well not really but its unlike any other place on earth. The people there are always happy and friendly. The State park is located right between lake michigan and hamlin lake with a river going right along side of the road. Some of the best sand dunes in the US are located all around the state park. You can fish at one of the many lakes they have there. Hamlin lake has huge sand dunes all along the west side of the lake. How many big lakes do you know of with sand dunes all around them, i dont know of any. I can go on and on!
Are you a Rotary Memember or Chamber of Commerce? I am kidding. As someone who grew up in Ludington, it is an amazing and I really do miss the natural beauty.

Humm, Ludington in February or Hawaii....
OK, I%26#39;ll stay away and go to Hawaii in February, feel free to camp out in Ludington.
Hahahahah, Bill. I will take Hawaii, too.
Very funny Jesse and Bill! I have not been to Ludington in years (I should go though as we have family who own a huge farm there) but Lake Michigan is absolutely stunning. We vacation further north in Charlevoix. I%26#39;ll never forget the first time our son saw the Caribbean Sea as we were landing in Mexico. He leaned over to my husband and said ';look Dad the water is Lake Michigan blue!'; We both thought that was priceless.
As for Hawaii, we leave later today for Maui. I am hoping that now that he is turning 13 on Saturday and has traveled to several Caribbean islands, I still hear a comparison to the beauty of Lake Michigan (in July not February!) Moms
