Winter Getaways In Michigan

I%26#39;m looking for a B %26amp; B or nice hotel with jacuzzi and fireplace in room. I%26#39;d like to surprise my hubby and wisk him away for a romantic weekend. I%26#39;d like to stay around the Michigan area.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How about a bit more specific as to what area of Michigan?

Winter Getaways In Michigan

I%26#39;m thinkng some where within 4 hours from Lansing. Up north or Ann Arbor or Grand Haven. I%26#39;m not ';set'; on a location, I%26#39;d just like a nice getaway this winter.

Lets see...if you%26#39;re looking for something in the city I%26#39;d head over to Grand Rapids and check out the new JW Marriott or maybe the Amway Grand Plaza...both right downtown with lots of cool restaurants, bars, shopping, events, etc. Traverse City%26#39;s another fun downtown area with lots of hotel options on the bay.

For more of a resort setting, look into the Homestead in Glen Arbor. It%26#39;s right on Lake Michigan and there are cool accommodations from rental houses to condos with fireplace, jacuzzi, etc. Depending on your timeframe, they might have a nice weekend package deal.

Petoskey and Harbor Springs are great for a more small town, up north feel. Downtown Petoskey%26#39;s really cool with a fun, funky vibe. I%26#39;d recommend staying at the Perry Hotel, but they might not have jacuzzi, fireplace, etc. The Bay View Inn and Cherry Tree Inn also have nice suites.

Feel free to ask any further questions!

We like Petoskey %26amp; the Perry (actually staying there this weekend) but not sure about the Jacuzzi or Fireplace though.

Another option might be to look at the Inn at Bay Harbor or the Cottages there (just outside Petoskey)...might be a little pricey but they would likely have the Jacuzzi type suite you are looking for...

There is a nice mom%26amp;pop hotel in Ludington with a wonderful romantic whirlpool/fireplace room. We were there a few years ago. It is the Viking Arms Inn, I believe. They have more than one whirlpool suite but there is one special get-away romantic room. Depending on what type of activity you are looking for, Ludington in the winter can be magical. Especially if you like to cross country ski or snow ski. The state park there is one of the best in the state. Manistee is about 30 miles north for Little River Casino.

We just stayed at The Inn at Bay Harbor over last weekend. We had a one bedroom master suite and it had a Jacuzzi bath tube and fireplace (gas on a timer lol). We were part of a group but the rate was $149/night quary view. I thought that was pretty good. I know Deadhead doesn%26#39;t think much of it but I%26#39;ve always liked it. The service is hit and miss.

Deer Head Inn in Mackinaw City. Just a half block from Central Avenue. http://www.deerhead.com/

The Harbor Grand in New Buffalo has all that you are looking for. They also usually have some good rates in winter.
