Which One? Hooten Inn or The Hunter's Lodge???

Greetings!

I%26#39;m having a terrible time making a decision between these two facilities. We will be in Saugatuck for just one night, need to go inexpensively on a room, and would like something interesting/comfy/quaint as compared to Super 8 rooms. I%26#39;ve gotten good responses from the owners when I emailed about these two places %26amp; the rates are reasonable. So how do I choose??? Any insight to these hotels would be very helpful! (or anything else in Douglas/Saugatuck that would be similar in price *wink*)

They are both on Blue Star Hwy, Hooten Inn is just in the city limits I think, you could, if you%26#39;re energetic, walk to town. Hunter%26#39;s Lodge is south of town, I%26#39;d guess two maybe three miles. When you plan on coming makes a difference as to other suggestions.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Rono. We%26#39;ll be there September 5th. I appreciate the info on the location too. I knew both of them were on the highway, but wasn%26#39;t sure of the distance to town, although distance doesn%26#39;t really matter to us. We%26#39;ll be driving from KS then heading to Chicago after our stay in Saugatuck.

We don%26#39;t require anything fancy...we%26#39;re really trying to do this trip on a budget! (hah...since we%26#39;ll be spending so much on gas ;o) I like the looks of both of these places. The Hunter%26#39;s Lodge looks like a lovely location in the trees and that intrigues me. But I also like the fun look of the Hooten Inn. Neither are the regular economy hotels that I usually stay at, and that%26#39;s a good thing.

Interesting...comfy...quaint...unique....that%26#39;s what I like!

What have you decided to stay at? Hunter%26#39;s Lodge or Hooeten Inn? How did you think about your choice?
