Got some great coney islands just down Woodward from Jefferson, walkable. Cheap.

You also could take the Detroit People Mover to Greektown.

Restaurants at the MGM are good but definitely would qualify as ';pricey';.

Hockeytown Cafe. Great food. Lots of fun.

Fishbones isn%26#39;t exactly cheap but I wouldn%26#39;t consider it pricey either. It is near Greektown casino. If you%26#39;re going to the hockey game they also offer a free shuttle from their restaurant.

Cobo Joe%26#39;s is fun, loud. Can walk to the Joe with the rest of the fans.

How is the food at Cobo Joes?

My FAVORITE spot to eat downtown is Pizza Papalis in Greektown across from the casino. They specialize in traditional Chicago Style pizza but you really can%26#39;t go wrong w/anything on the menu. They also have reasonable drink prices, particularly on a pitcher of beer.

It is very easy to get from Greektown to the Joe using the people mover - 50 cents and you%26#39;re there!

Food at Cobo Joes is typical Pub Grub...salads, burgers, pizza...pretty good, but deifintely not fine dining if that%26#39;s waht you are looking for.

Check out their virutal tour %26amp; menu at their website:

There%26#39;s currently a winter special at Wolfgang Puck Grille, for $35/person for the food portion. Details here:

If you%26#39;ll have a car, Downtown, Greektown/Bricktown, Comerica/Ford Field area, Corktown and Mexicantown are all a short distance.
