Questions about holland

I am visiting Holland in a few weeks and would like to ask a couple questions:

1. Would like to take a daytrip from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans, Hoorn, maybe Volendam, Marken and back to Amsterdam. Is there any connection between these villages by public transporation? (bus, train?) Is there a webside I can look up the schedule?

2. My second daytrip would be to Leiden, Delfts, Utrecht..I know I can get to these cities by train. Is there a discounted one day train pass? Is it also possible to purchase the tickets on the train?
