Old Mission Peninsula Restaurants

Hi - Going back to our annual winery trip (12 women) in October and was looking for a lunch spot on Old Mission Peninsula. Any recommendations? I can’t remember the name of the one we have gone to in the past but we wanted to try something different this year. Any thoughts on the Boathouse? Thanks

We like the Peninsula Grill. Excellent food and service when we have visited.

We used to like Bowers Harbor Inn, but there seems to be a lot of negative reviews for it for a good while now. You might give the bar restaurant in back a try, it was always good, also. The name escapes me at the momemnt-the Bowery?

That’s actually where we went. I asked one of my girlfriends. The first 2 times we went to Peninsula Grill it was great but last year we had some problems. 3 or 4 orders of food were wrong and they claimed their dishes were all dirty so some of us got plastic spoons for our soup and wine in a regular glass. The place was not busy so we joked that the workers must be whooping up in the kitchen using up all the wine glasses and silverware. It was all very bizarre so we just laughed about it because that is all we could do. We wondered if it was under different management because we never had an experience like that there before. The waitress was young and I think she was new so maybe we scared her. 10 women without their husbands or children and tasting wine all day could scare a young girl! LOL

U R too funny, Kilarney! Can I become the 11th woman in your group this year? LOOOOOLLLLL!!

I%26#39;ve only dined at the Bowers Harbor Inn. We had a private room for my extended family to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. It was lovely and the food was great. We all loved the story of how the Inn is haunted! Great fun! The reviews haven%26#39;t been great lately so I%26#39;m not sure it is still as good.

How about The Boathouse restaurant? I have not dined there but the view looks so lovely.

Have a great trip with your friends! Moms

We make such spectacles of ourselves when we go on our Mackinac trip that the business owners remember us from year to year and have nicknamed us the Mac Pac! Husbands lose their wives there because they say we are more fun and they ditch them to hang with us instead. LOL

Thanks Moms - that%26#39;s what we were thinking when we went by the Boathouse. I%26#39;ll write back if we end up eating there.

I am back from my annual girl’s winery trip. We did end up eating lunch at the Boathouse and we all really enjoyed it. There were 9 of us this year and we were at the Boathouse around 4:00. Since it was late for lunch and early for dinner we were seated right away. The deck was full but we still got a fantastic view of the bay from the restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive and funny. The food was a bit pricey but it was very good and all of us said we would go back again. Their deserts were wonderful (I had pumpkin cheesecake) and they had a nice wine list.

The weather was spectacular; the colors although not quite peak, were beautiful. Another wonderful trip to TC.

Glad you had a great time at the Boathouse. Always great views!
