Nice restaurant near the airport?

We%26#39;re staying at the Westin at the airport for one night, and I wondered if anyone could suggest good places to eat nearby. I%26#39;m not even sure where the airport is, how far away from Detroit, etc. We would like to have a nice dinner (one option is the hotel restaurant, but we%26#39;d like to get others) somewhere that%26#39;s not a chain. We%26#39;ll have our car. Thanks for any suggestions!

There is not much right by the airport. I believe there is an Italian place on Merriman just north of the airport but have never eaten there.

The Italian place on Merriman is called Leonardo%26#39;s and it is a good family style restaurant. Can you give a few more specfics on what you are looking for...just a good meal or an upscale atmosphere, what type of cuisine, will you have a car, etc.

The airport is NOT in Detroit, but about 30 minutes drive from downtown, if traffic isn%26#39;t heavy. The airport actually is closer to Dearborn (maybe 12-15 minutes) and to Ann Arbor (maybe 20-25 minutes) and a number of other suburbs than it is to Detroit.

There are several nice restaurants in Dearborn and a lot in Ann Arbor.

Thanks to all who responded. We ended up eating at Demo, the hotel restaurant--a bit expensive but overall good. The hotel is gorgeous. I wanted to wander into the airport terminal while my husband attends a conference today, but one thing the hotel neglects to tell you is that they only give you a pass into the terminal during your stay: If you check out first, you%26#39;re out of luck. Luckily this hotel has plenty of lounging areas.
