Is there any public transportation between Mackinaw and St. Ignace (buses, taxi etc.)? I am intrested in prices and schedules.
Public transportation between Mackinaw city and St. Ignace
The Mackinac Bridge Authority provides transportaion over the Bridge. I believe the current charge is $2. They do not maintain a schedule but respond when needed.
Go to the service window in the Bridge Administration building from the St. Ignace side or use the phone on the shoulder of the approach (across from Audie%26#39;s Restaurant) from the Mackinaw City side.
This will put you about 5 blocks from the heart of Mackinaw City, and about 1.5 miles from the heart of St. Ignace, but I suspect the person transporting you would drop you off closer to your destination.
Taxi service is also available. Straits Taxi (906) 643-6909
Public transportation between Mackinaw city and St. Ignace
Thank you for ';Straits Taxi';! I found on their website that price from Pellston to St. Ignace is 48 USD. It%26#39;s cheaper than 22 USD per person (we are 3 persons) with shuttle Pellston-Mackinaw. This information is from Pellston forum.
Our route is Pellston, several days on Mackinac island, one or two days in St. Ignace and back to Pellston.
Bridge Autohrity service is cheap, but as I understood it would be to much trouble from St. Ignace to reach the bridge with our luggage.
I%26#39;m not sure why you would need to cross the bridge with your luggage, separate from your shuttling from the airport. Ferry service is available between the Island and both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace.
Is there a particular reason you are spending the 2 days in St. Ignace? Mackinaw City is more compact, making it much easier for someone on foot to do everything. And it has more things to do.
