I am planning a trip to Detroit in February and was wondering if anybody could tell me what stores in the area have the largest selection of:
A%26gt; Used DVDs
B%26gt; Used Vinyl Record Albums (In particular, stores that would have a healthy selection of albums under $3)
I notice that Detroit doesn%26#39;t seem to have any chains like Half Price Books or Disc Go Round as far as I can tell. From my research so far, the places I would like to visit are Dearborn Music in Dearborn, Record Time in Roseville, and Record Exchange in Southfield.
Can anybody tell me if these stores are any good . . . and are there any larger stores that have a lot of used DVDs or used record albums?
Used CD/DVD/Record Stores in Detroit
Sadly these types of stores are a dying breed. I%26#39;ve been to Dearborn Music many times and they (at least used to) have a lot of used CDs/DVDs. As for vinyl I don%26#39;t recall. Record Time had vinyl I remember. When you get there get a copy of Metro Times and check in there for ads.

I believe Flipside Records in Clawson (14 mile %26amp; Main) is still there. It has been many many years since I have been there though.
Car City Records on Harper Road (between 8 and Nine Mile Roads) in St Clair Shores may suit you, Phil.
There is also a once monthly flea market for music at a rental hall on Gratiot in Eastpointe. I%26#39;ll get that info and post it as soon as possible.
My boyfriend is heavily into that and he has places he goes on the east side. He%26#39;s out of town. When he calls me today, I will ask him for the names.
Flip side is still there. Sold some 6 months ago.
Ann Arbor used to have a handful, but similar to the other poster, it has been %26#39;years since I%26#39;ve been to those stores%26#39;.
You are totally missing out if you do not check ou t Melodies %26amp; Memories in Eastpointe. I think they are at 9 and Gratiot area(but call to make sure). 586-774-8480
Bumrush,
This happens all of the time. I wish that I had $10 for every time that I have responded without looking at the date of the first post.
The original poster (Phil53188) planned to visit Detroit in February 2008, not 2009. Your added store may, however, help anyone who is searching the same topic.
