Actually the city lots will be more than $10. Expect to pay a minimum of $20 near the stadium, possibly much higher if it is a big game or there are other activities driving up the demand for parking downtown. I personally park in Bricktown or Greektown and take a bar shuttle to the game. It is also much easier to get out after the game instead of being stuck in a massive traffic jam near the stadiums.
There are also a variety of restaurants/bars that offer both parking and shuttles to the stadiums. Nemo%26#39;s, River%26#39;s Edge Grill and Roma Cafe (in order by menu prices) come to mind.

I always park at Greektown Casino - it%26#39;s free and you can eat anywhere in Greektown if you want and Comerica is about a 10 minute walk. Piece of cake!
Does the Greektown Casino still require validation of your ticket at the casino cage for free parking? I also recall some rule about having to have a players card and show play at certain times of the day, mainly to avoid downtown workers taking up all their parking. I have not parked there since they opened the new parking garage. I refused to re-enter the old one on Beaubien after I got trapped inside in traffic for 45 minutes and never did find a parking spot.
Parking is free at the new Greektown Hotel parking structure. You might still need validation for the older structure near the temporary casino in the heart of Greektown
I have parked at the new garage a couple of times. They have signs saying that all occupants of the car must be of legal gambling age, but when I was there at least, there were no attendants to enforce that rule and there was no charge for parking. I suspect that all of that will change if, in the future, they are busy.
In any case, it certainly is worth trying.
No validation, I%26#39;ve never seen anyone there from the casino. When they planned the new parking lot they must have figured it cost more to print the tickets and pay an attendant when all you had to do was walk in the first floor of the casino and put the ticket into the validator and walk out without dropping a nickel. I%26#39;ve parked at the new structure at least 5 times - it%26#39;s right off 75, really simple.
MGM casino is also within walking distance. Parking is also free. We have never had a problem.
