Need a place to host a family reunion

Hi there!

I would love to host our annual family reunion (casual day/early evening bbq) in Saugatuck-Douglas. I%26#39;m looking for a rental for the weekend of 10/3 where 6-8 of us could stay and host a barbecue for up to 50-60 in the backyard. Any ideas?

fyi...if we cannot find a rental where we can do this...any ideas on where we might be able to do such a thing? I%26#39;d like to have a place where I could have a tent (in case of bad weather) or an indoor venue that we could host a reunion-ish event.

The first place that popped into my head was this place http://timberbluff.net/ Understand they are a short drive south of Saugatuck but you would need a car to go to town or restaurants.

If you couldn%26#39;t have the bbq there you could use Westside County Park about two miles south and also on Lake Michigan. I believe it has a pavillion with roof.

I%26#39;m sure others will have ideas and I%26#39;ll keep thinking.

That was a good idea....keep them coming! I%26#39;m not sure we could afford to rent all of the cottages at Timber Bluff, but I%26#39;m going to call and see if they would be alright with us renting one or two and then using the space outside for the event. Thanks so much!

Call the Visitors Bureau, 269 857-1701, they might have some suggestions.

You could try contacting Lakeshore Lodging (lakeshorelodging *dot* com) to see if they have any appropriate properties, or go through vrbo *dot* com and see if any homeowners would allow the party. You might get some resistance about having the party at a house, I don%26#39;t know....

Probably calling the CVB is the best idea for other hosting options.
