Hi, I%26#39;m trying to plan a trip to East Lansing to visit some archives in the University%26#39;s library. I%26#39;ll be stopping for around 2 weeks, can anyone suggest anywhere near/on campus to stay that has either a kitchen or is near a supermarket/places to eat? Also, is it possible to fly into Detroit Metro and travel to East Lansing by rail or bus - or would this prove problematic? Thanks

Check out this website for bus transportation to and from the airport:

This place has a kitchen and is pretty close to campus:

The bus system in Lansing is pretty good. Here is a link to their website:

Enjoy your visit to Michigan! I have two kids at Michigan State and it is a beautiful campus.

Also consider short-term rentals. A great US resource is craigslist. Here are links to available listings and ';housing wanted,'; where you can post your request:

Note: Lansing is Michigan%26#39;s capital and the larger city; East Lansing is the adjoining city which contains Michigan State University.
Enjoy your stay!
Too-long-ago MSU alumnus.
