Birthday Dinner and Cake

We%26#39;ll be coming up this summer on my husband%26#39;s birthday. Would you recommend the Inn at Hawkshead for a nice dinner? And is there a bakery that does birthday cakes in town? Thanks!

I would choose Hawkshead. Cakes can be made or purchased at the Golden Brown Bakery on Phoenix, I would assume Julia%26#39;s and my favorite, Dairy Queen Icecream cake. Along with icecream, it has caramel, and crumbled cookie. :)

a dinner for 2 i%26#39;d sure go to hawkshead...its wonderful!! when i bring up my kids we go to clems for the atmosphere and great food....and golden brown bakes a great bd cake....we have done this several times and take the cake back to our house/condo or whatever we%26#39;re renting!!

What is dress code like for Hawkshead?..

Jeans/baseball caps or business casual?

Inosense, the dress code is casual. I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;d wear a baseball cap in the main restaurant but they%26#39;d be acceptable in the bar area. Jeans are fine, It%26#39;s part of a golf course.

Also they are currently closed for the season and won%26#39;t reopen till early April according to their phone recorder.

How about your previously recommended Everyday People %26amp; Blue Moon?...

Everyday People Cafe is excellent, and Wild Dog across the street seems to be packing them in. I need to check them out. Unfortunately Blue Moon has been forced to shut down. Call and see if Cranes is open for lunch (Phone: (269) 561-2297) and combine that with a visit to FennValley Winery. They%26#39;re very close to one another and only a 20/30 minute drive from SH.

We really do need a couple of ';good'; restaurants here in SH.

Called Cranes.. Open Saturday%26#39;s and Sundays ONLY until mid April..

Hours on Sat %26amp; Sunday are 11am - 5pm..
