cameras in the casino?

I will be bringing my son, daughter and a few friends to Soaring Eagle casino next weekend to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday and wondered if they prohibit taking pictures in the casino? I saw a mention in a different casino ( dont recall which one) that specifically prohibited cameras but dont see anything on the topic at Soaring Eagle. Does anyone know? ( dont want to embarass my kids by being %26#39;caught%26#39; by security if it is not allowed!) but would love to have some pictures of the evening.

Hello cebee,

I just called the Soaring Eagle Casino (1-888-732-4537) and asked them if people were allowed to take pictures inside the casino and they said No.

I think all casinos have that rule, but it is not going to be enforced - unless you start taking tons of pictures of the cage, high rollers at the blackjack table, etc. Taking a quick snapshot will be fine. Just don%26#39;t let kids under 21 loiter in the gaming area - that will get the attention of security very quickly.

Just from our own personal experience, we have taken some photo%26#39;s with our cell phones. About 4 months ago our 20 year old hit a $1000 jackpot at Turtle Creek on a penny machine. We were close by and were really whooping it up. He had to be hand paid by an attendent. With more than 3 staff people around us, no one said anything about us taking photos. They even offered to go get the digital and take a photo, which they did. Within 5 minutes or so we picked it up at the coat check. It came in a nice decorative sleeve, about a 5X7 size. I think as long as you do it quietly and in private, no one will say anything.

I would stay away from the table games however.

Soaring Eagle is one of the casino%26#39;s that allow 18 year olds to gamble. Others allow 19 year olds in, Turtle Creek being one. Most are in the U.P.

I don%26#39;t think it will be a problem if you%26#39;re not taking photos at the live tables (craps, black jack, etc...). We%26#39;ve snapped photoes there with no problems but we did it at the entrance area before we entered the actual gaming floor.

I did get a response to my email to Soaring Eagle and they told me while they do not allow cameras on the floor of the casino, they are ok in the public areas- so regardless I think I can get some shots of the my daughter and her friends. I can see why they do not want shots at the tables- not sure why they would not allow cameras in the slot machine areas but I can live with it. ( and I doubt they would notice if I were discreet anyhow! )

I tried taking a few candid pictures by the slot machines at the casino in Petoskey, not knowing that we weren%26#39;t allowed... within seconds a security person came up and told me that my camera would have to either get checked in or taken back to our vehicle.
