mackinaw with kids

Hi All:

We%26#39;re looking for a place to stay with kids. A pool would be great, doesn%26#39;t have to be fancy, but clean and enough room for a family of 4.

Any ideas?

If you%26#39;re looking to stay on the Island, hotels with pools:

LakeView Hotel

Island House Hotel

Of course The Grand Hotel also has a pool.

My kids have stayed at Mission Point on school trips and thought it was great. I checked Hotel %26amp; Accommodations and see it ranks 14 of 14 with inconsistent reviews. Sorry I can%26#39;t give you a first person report as I haven%26#39;t stayed there.

The Grand has the best pool, but it is pricy. We have stayed at Mission Point and enjoyed the visit. It is very kid friendly. The other hotel that was mentioned only has an indoor pool.

Sorry, my mistake. I think the pool at the Lake View is an outdoor pool.

And of course Mission Point Resort, www.missionpoint.com

this is late but just posting there are pics of the pool on the Lakeview Hotel site, it%26#39;s indoors--atrium style.

You%26#39;ve probably gathered by now there aren%26#39;t many pools on the island. I%26#39;d suggest an alternative to a pool - and that%26#39;s a large area for the kids to play and run around in.

Mission Point is probably the best for a %26#39;great lawn%26#39; but you take your chances on the room and service (read my review).

The next great green space is Marquette Park, just below the fort. It%26#39;s wonderful for picnics and has lots of room for kids to play.

Lastly, there%26#39;s green space by the public school (and playground) that is available.

I%26#39;d avoid the area around the hotdog stand, there are too many seagulls and that which they leave behind.

Hope this helps is you can%26#39;t find a pool to your liking.
