We%26#39;re looking to have a Sunday brunch somewhere in the city or surrounding area. Any recommendations?
Also, does anyone know if there is a good breakfast in the Book Cadillac Building or any other hotel downtown?
Thanks.
Sunday Brunch/Buffet in the City of Detroit
A number of restaurants have stopped Sunday brunch and others (e.g., the Dearborn Inn) aren%26#39;t doing them until April or whenever).
Here are five suggestions (all of them a little pricey) to get you started:
(1) The Whitney in Detroit between the DIA and the Fox;
(2) La Dolce Vita on Woodward north of McNichols (6-Mile) in Detroit;
(3) Rugby Grille at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham;
(4) Royal Park Hotel in Rochester; and
(5) the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor.
In addition, the DIA still does its Brunch with Bach one Sunday each month and I am sure that there are other places as well, but it may take a little calling around to find them.
Sunday Brunch/Buffet in the City of Detroit
Of the Detroit hotels, I think that the new Greektown Casino Hotel is the only one that has Sunday brunch. Marriott, Book Cadillac, MGM Grand, Atheneum, Omni and Hilton Garden Inn do not.
Here are 2 other Detroit restaurants that I now have confirmed serve Sunday brunch: Atlas Global Bistro on Woodward about 6 blocks north of the Fox and Fishbones in Greentown. Have eaten at both recently (good places), but haven%26#39;t tried their brunch.
We have had Sunday brunch at ';Fishbone%26#39;s'; a couple of times. They offer a great spread from the omelette chef to prime rib... also a good selection of %26#39;Nawlins style food. Really good food!
One side note, you can not park in the casino%26#39;s parking structure if you have anyone under 18 in the vehicle. We had to park in a side lot that was about a block %26amp; a half away. No big deal though.
