Hotel Casino

What are the closest hotel/casinos to Ford Field. Thinking about going to a Lion game in the fall. Waiting for schedule to come out. Can you walk safely from Ford Field to a casino/hotel. Thanks for your help

We have parked in the MGM parking ramp and walked to Ford Field. I would guess about 4-6 city blocks. Not so sure I would do it after dark, but day time foot travel was fine.

Walking in a different direction, you also could be to the Greektown Casino. Distance is similar but, in my opinion, the walk is nicer and more interesting. MGM is itself, however, a nicer and more upscale destination.

Thanks for your help, I%26#39;ll look at both. As far as walking close by restaurants, music so on which is better at night. I don%26#39;t really like to eat hotel food.

Greektown is the best option for being close to Ford Field and local restaurants. Motor City and MGM don%26#39;t have much close to them.

I think that Greektown is a good recommendation but there also are other restaurants, bars and clubs about the same distance (a few even closer) to Ford Field.

Here are a few to consider.

1. closer to Ford Field than Greektown: Elwood Bar and Grill, Cheli%26#39;s and Angelina Italian Bistro.

2. near the Fox Theatre on Woodward Avenue: Proof Martini Bar (taps,drinks and music some nights), Da Eduardo%26#39;s (Italian); Hockeytown Cafe (pub grub); Town Pump (nice beer list, appetizers and more and DJ on some nights), Centaur Bar (nice appetizer and drink menu), and Cliff Bell%26#39;s (jazz).

3. about the same distance as Greektown: Small Plates and Vincente%26#39;s Cuban Cuisine.

There are a number of others as well, but this should get you started. All of the above also should have websites.
