My boyfriend and I live in Wisconsin and want to take a trip April 1-5....I suggested Mackinaw City because I%26#39;ve been there before and absolutely LOVED it. However, both times I%26#39;ve been there it was during the summer months.
Obviously, we will not be sunbathing or swimming in April, which is okay, but I%26#39;m wondering if everything else is open like usual...like Macinaw Crossings? The ferry trip to the island?
Those are the two things I am very concerned about making sure they are open in April before we make any reservations or anything. I don%26#39;t want us to drive all the way to Michigan only to find everything closed for the season until May or June.
Any other ideas of things to see or do in April?
Thank you!!

Mackinaw in April? Help!
That%26#39;s pretty early in the Spring for Mackinaw...
You will likely find little service to the island---Check Shpelers or the Starline Ferry sites for details.
You will likely find slim picckinsg at the Crossings as well.
If you can put your trip off for a months or later you will enjoy Makcinaw and th eIsland much more when there are so many more activities...
Mackinaw in April? Help!
Yes, not much going on, especially in April. By then, the snow/winter activities will be coming to an end also. You can go over to St. Ignace and fly over to the island. That is always an interesting little trip. Great views, of course. That could be part of your trip-an attraction in itself. You wouldn%26#39;t have much to do otherwise, though. I can%26#39;t really come up with any other ideas..sorry!
I am a big supporter of Mackinaw City, but that is about the time I would be least likely to recomend going. There will still be snow, at least in piles, but things will be thawing so it probably will not be fun to do outdoor things.
I would recomend holding off until about Mother%26#39;s Day weekend.
Thanks so much for your responses everyone! It has helped a lot. I think we probably will have to delay our trip to Mackinaw to a later month when there%26#39;s a lot of things going on. Thanks again!!
