hi
i%26#39;ve been a motown fan since the 60%26#39;s. when i was 14 i bought hitsville usa for my youth club, when i was supposed to be buying a beatles album!!
we have a layover in detroit airport and i noticed there is a motown music review store in one of the terminals.
i want to buy some stuff, particularly t-shirts, and i wondered if somebody out there can whet my appetite by telling me some of the designs/artists available on a t-shirt in the store.
cheers!

I%26#39;ve walked past the place dozens of times but have never been in there. If you don%26#39;t get any responses here, you might want to ask this question over at flyertalk.com, specifically in the Northwest Airlines forum. It might be considered off topic there, but that terminal is the home to NW and you will have hundreds of frequent fliers that transit DTW on a weekly basis.
Hopefully you are flying Northwest/KLM/Delta/Air France/Continental since all of the other airlines are now over at the new North terminal.
Google turned up their phone number, but I doubt they require an expert knowledge of motown music history to work there.

How long is your layover?
thanks for the advice so far.
i might phone if i don%26#39;t get any specific info here.
hi tymetraveller, our layover is about 3hrs.
OK. Thought just maybe you could have the time to go visit the Motown Museum, which is incredible. But 3 hours to catch at taxi from Detroit Metro (plus the expense), see the museum and get back in time, well, not enough time! Sorry you don%26#39;t have the time to do it, you would love it I am guessing.
Please don%26#39;t waste your money on an international phone call. The number above (which is also the only number that I could find on the web) isn%26#39;t for the Motown Music Review store at all. It is the phone number is for ';Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services';. This is the large management company that handles leases and marketing for the shops and restaurants at the Detroit airport, among many other places.
I called them this morning and got an elaborate and totally worthless menu of selection like ';for the lead retail buyer, press. . .';., so I pressed zero for the operator. Got a message that said: ';the operator is not available. At the tone, please leave a message.'; Today is a holiday in the US (Martin Luther King Day) and some businesses are closed. Perhaps that is the case here. I%26#39;ll try tomorrow and see if I can get through. Haven%26#39;t been able to find a phone number for the store, though they obviously have a telephone.
Perhaps some one else on this site has been to the Motown Music Review and can help answer your questions. I have walked by a hundreds of times, but never been inside.

You are welcome. Sorry that info seems to be so hard to find. This sort of thing just drives me crazy. You would think the store would at least have a webpage and phone number. I%26#39;ll try to reach them tomorrow and let you know the results. At this point, my confidence is fading fast.
I%26#39;ve been to the shop a couple of months ago.
I recall that the t-shirts design are similar to whats on their website
