Mackinaw Island

I know this is the Detroit forum, but does anyone have a recommendation for a place to stay on Mackinaw Island. We will be coming to Michigan in late August or September.

Mackinaw Island

Post in the Mackinac Island forum and give some details like budget, how many in your party, how long you plan to be there, etc.

And know that prices will drop after the Labor Day holiday and schools open again, so dates can make a difference.

Thanks, but I didn%26#39;t find a Mackinaw Island forum. There will be 4 adults in the party. We usually prefer B %26amp; B%26#39;s or 4 star hotels or resorts. Is there enough to do on the island to stay 4 or 5 days?

The different spellings of the name are indeed confusing!

Thank you.

Hope to see you in the Mackinac forum, but here%26#39;s a few thoughts.

I%26#39;ve stayed everywhere from the Iroquois to the Grand Hotel and the Yacht Club (private) and our own boat in the marina. I never get bored on the island, but often, the best thing to do there is nothing at all. If you%26#39;re the kind of folks who have to be doing something and on the go all the time, then you might run out of things to do after about 4-5 days. But then there are plenty of folks who go there for an entire summer and love every minute.

The island is filled with history and the charm of existing without autos makes it unique and worth exploring. You%26#39;ll get lots more info in the island forum. Go there and post your questions with lots of details about your party and expectations.

I absolutely love staying at Mission Pointe Resort. The views from the hotel are absolutely amazing. We do a race every October on the Island and chose to stay here. The staff is great, the place is quaint and your very close to the downtown area. Sign up for thier email specials, I have gotten a few deals over the years.
