More secure parking at DTW - hotel or lot

IS it better to park at a hotel or parking lot for park and fly. Who has the most frequent shuttles?

The private lots are much more secure than the airport%26#39;s. I%26#39;ll never forget when I arrived back once to find my car%26#39;s window down and the battery dead from someone breaking into it. As I calmly walked over to the security booth I passed three other cars with their alarms going off. The attendant could care less.

The one next to La Qunita has frequent shuttles.

I think most, if not all, of the hotels actually send you to one of the off-airport lots to park.

I would worry more about making sure you don%26#39;t leave valuables visible and lock your car. I also make sure I am not the last car in a row just to avoid the chance of a shuttle or careless driver clipping my car.

I%26#39;ve parked at Airlines Parking, US Park, Qwik Park and the McNamara deck on many occasions without any problems. Avoid the remote lots (Green/Red/Yellow) on airport as they are more expensive and shuttle service is horrible in my opinion.

US Park had the best deal last week with a free day, $9 additional day coupon you can find in the paper, online, or in any of the coupon mailers.

I believe the break in I wote about occured in the airport%26#39;s red lot. Never again, I%26#39;ll always use the private lots over by the hotels that Tev referred to. I love the $100 park and fly combos. Its a great deal in my opinion as I get a nice room, parking for a week, and save the hour drive from Jackson in the morning. I%26#39;ve taken a lot of red eyes in my day so these types of options have worked great!
