Our family is looking for a house vacation rental in the Union Pier/New Buffalo area for 7 days, August 14 - 15ish. We want it on Lake MI, to sleep at least 6 -8 in the range of 3500 to 3700 per week. Know of any? Thanks
Union Pier/New Buffalo areaHello ChicagoMaria53,
One web site you might like to check out is - Vacation Rentals by Owners. I know a few people that have used this site and have found what they are looking for.

Union Pier/New Buffalo areaThank you very much. I will give it a try.
Have you been to this area before? We have been to St. Joseph and South Haven, but never Union Pier and we%26#39;re about to book a house there. Do you know if the beaches are nice? It%26#39;s so hard to tell just by looking onlin!
We have been to Union Pier and New Buffalo many times. Each year it depends on whether or not the lake gives good beaches. Typically, there are beaches - some narrower than others. Access to the beaches is important and not always as easy as cottage ads lead you to believe. That is why we are looking for a place on the lake shore/beach. Take your bikes, it is a great place to never get in your car. Restaurants are always disappointing and Chicago prices, so bbq at your house. One exception is the Red Arrow Inn on Red Arrow Highway! Very fun and good food. Hope for no rain...when there is...absolutely nothing to do and nearest movie theater is quite a drive.
Thanks for the info - the beach is the one thing I%26#39;m worrying about. I know that the beaches in SH and St. Joseph are nice, and I%26#39;m just trying to get a sense of the ones farther south. Good luck in your search - we looked on vrbo.com and homeaway.com - both had tons of listings.
The beaches near Bridgman are very nice white sand. Between Bridgeman and Union Pier/Lakeside area are 2 state parks -- Grand Mere and Warren Dunes. Both have wonderful dunes areas for climbing and lovely beaches.
St Joseph is a nice drive up Red Arrow highway from Union Pier. There are lots of nice not so expensive restaurants and a great lighthouse and walking pier near the downtown. Go a little futher up the road and South Haven has more of the same cute stuff.
