weather effect on Detroit airport flight status

We will be flying next week to Japan, and have to transfer in Detroit. Can anybody tell me where I can find airport info. due to the weather condition? Looks like the day we fly into DTW will be 30F w/10% perticipation(?) Will we be stuck w/this forcast? Thanks.

It takes a LOT to shut down the airport or cancel flights. 30F is pretty much balmy given recent history. It was -4F and snowy when I recently flew to Florida. Our flight took off an hour or so late due to weather problems (de-icing can slow things down), but we still got out.

You can check with your airline for flight delays, weather-related or not, but unless that 10% precipitation turns into a raging blizzard (highly unlikely) or major ice storm (also highly unlikely) weather shouldn%26#39;t be a factor for you at all.

Thanks Janifera2 for your info.. To hear the local from your own experience makes my mind easier. To plan such a long trip to see my ailing mom, the last thing I try to avoid is stuck in in the airport. Again, thank you very much.

No problem! It really looks like the weather over the next week or so is going to be great (for February in Detroit, that is). If you have to winter-travel through the upper midwest, this is a good time to do it.
