Unfortunately, the Art Institute and the Motown museum are both closed on Mondays. Any suggestions on other places to see / visit while in Detroit on a Monday?
what to do on a Monday?
You don%26#39;t say when you will be in Detroit or where you are staying (downtown? suburbs?)
The Detroit Science Museum might be intersting but they are closed on Monday thru mid-March

If you can get to Dearborn the Henry Ford would easily amuse you for a day.

I second the Henry Ford.
Other ideas:
Pewabic Pottery.
Walking around Greektown and going into St Marys
Another vote for the Henry Ford. You could spend an entire day there.
You didn%26#39;t say when your visit will be. The Henry Ford has both indoor and outdoor portions, but the outdoor one (Greenfield Village) is closed until April 15 (www.thehenryford.org).
The Henry Ford also runs the tours of Ford%26#39;s Rouge Truck Plant, which also may be of interest. Tickets are sold separately for the tour and the specially painted and illustrated buses (you can%26#39;t miss them) leave from the Henry Ford Museum.
Also, visit the 3 casinos in Detroit. One of the casinos, Greektown, is in a nice location full of restaurants and locals who could tell you about other nice places to go/things to do.
If you have transportation and like to shop, try the Somerset Collection in Troy. Also, lots of nice places to eat there.
