The Marriott in the Renaissance Center is nice and very nearby. You could take the people mover to the Joe if the weather is bad and you don%26#39;t want to walk. marriott.com/hotels/…

The Atheneum in Greektown and the Hilton Garden Inn are all relatively close to people mover stations so while not next to JLA they are convenient alternatives.
We were in town for Wings/Blackhawks last year and stayed at HGI. You can walk to Cheli%26#39;s Chili (Chris Chelios%26#39; bar/restuarant) from there. (Actually ran into some Blackhawks fans there). You can also walk to the Hockeytown Cafe before the game and take their shuttle to JLA.
Westin Book Cadillac is right down the street also.
